About Me

On a Tuesday before New Year’s 2007 I woke up and decided to make a change. Change of eating, change of exercising, a change of how I lived my life around self image. I went online and bought a subscription to Oxygen magazine. Drove over to the bookstore and picked up the Tosca Reno Cleaning Eating Cookbook and got on my way to a new lifestyle.
I have what feels like a crazy schedule. I work 40-45 hours a week with a 2 hour commute a day to my job as a creative design manger in Houston, Texas. I also try and cook every night and go to the gym as well as run a side freelance business (www.vegadesigngroup.com). I have finally come to a point in my life were I wanted to make a change and help others change their life. I’m finally starting to love myself and how I look and not care so much about what people have to say negative towards me. Like every other health story you read out there, this was not my first attempt to become healthy and fit. I was in shape in high school (for the most part) and most of college. It’s after I graduated 5 years ago and took a desk job that I went a little crazy with the late night Jack in Box… and it caught up to me.
So I’ll save you the boring blah blah about how my weight has roll coaster over the years (I’m sure I’ll make a post about some of it) and get to the good stuff. 1 year and 6 month after I started this journey one random Tuesday, I have lost 40 lbs and 4 inches off my waist. With that being said, I still have not hit my target goal for the year yet. As you read in some of my recent Chick Chats… I am starting to hit my stubborn, don’t want to get the hell off of me 10 lbs. I still have some work to do but I haven’t thrown in the towel just yet.
You’ll will notice around the site categories called fit logs and fuel logs. The original purpose of this site was solely for myself. I started tracking my eating and workouts but stopped around Day 30. Mainly because it was to hard to keep up with what I ate and what I did for exercise on a daily basis with my current commuting/work schedule. I decided to use the site to help motivate myself and others instead. Whether a few people or no one read my thoughts, cook from the fab food section or get to the gym… if it helps me stay motivated and keeps someone else motivated I have accomplished part of my new lifestyle goal.
I am in the process of putting together before and “current” weight pictures, as well as digging up my measurments and weight-ins from the past year. Bare with me on my writing skills if you come across bad grammer and the occasional mispelling. I do design pretty pictures for a living and not write. Most of the food recipes and favorite workout are from oxygen magazine and cleaning eating books/magazines, though I will always try and give credit were credit is due.
